Last week I was in New Orleans for wedding. I always say New Orleans is my favorite city in the continental US. I have been several times and know the French Quarter like the back of my hand. It was a great trip because my whole family went and my oldest niece was a flower girl in the wedding. I would not have missed that for the world. My nieces give me life. And I will jump at any chance I can to see my parents since they live in Michigan. The weather was excellent. It was warm, but not too humid as New Orleans can sometimes be. Unfortunately I really didn’t get to see much of New Orleans this time because my mother has a broken ankle and was in a wheel chair. And wheeling her around the French Quarter was not happening. I did manage to wheel her to Café Du Monde to eat beignets. If you go to New Orleans, you have stop here for beignets. They are so delicious.

This mural was painted inside of the parking garage of our hotel. I had to get a picture of it. It was beautiful and captured the essence of New Orleans.
My mommy took this picture from her wheel chair so it’s a little crooked. Gotta love her for trying.

We saw these street performers from across the street. They saw me and my mom and motioned for us to come and watch them. Which of course we did.

They were funny and entertaining. They mentioned that they were on America’s Got Talent too and were selling their DVD’s.

We finally made it to Café Du Monde and had our beignets.

We passed by a hat store and tried on all kinds of hats. This one was my favorite. I wish I had plans to go to a tea or the Kentucky Derby. I would have bought this hat if I had an excuse to wear it. Looking back on it, I should have bought it. It was only $59 and those kind of hats can get really expensive.

Hi Dawling!

Here is my munchkin Sasha performing her flower girl duties. She felt like a princess the entire time. I couldn’t get her to stop twirling in her dress.

This is my other munchkin Sydney. Doesn’t it look like she is reading the program? My dad’s nickname for her is Miss Boss Lady.  And she wears that title well.

At the wedding I met blogger Reiko from God’s Favorite Shoes. We instantly bonded over fashion and blogging. I can’t wait for her to come and visit me in NYC!

Oh…and a big shout out to this cab driver who charged us extra money for my mother’s wheelchair and said it was a luggage charge. Nothing good is going to come to you! Karma is something else.

Don't ever take a taxi in New Orleans from this company.
Shame on you!
