I’m on my way to JFK airport as I type this and headed out to Italy. I’m also 4 for 4 of my new year resolution of traveling someplace domestic or internationally each month. Although I’m ballin’ on a budget, flying and lodging can get costly. But you know what really starts to add up? Buying food at the airport. Why is it that once you make it past security you get this need to stock up on rations? At least I do.

The coins can start to add up when you want the $1 Welch’s Gummy Snacks that Hudson News has marked up to $4.25 and a drink. So this time I brought along my own rations to save money on the front end of my trip.

I was gifted with a box of Eat Nakd Natural Protein Bars right before I was leaving and knew they would be perfect to bring as snacks on my trip. Have you heard of Eat Nakd?

The company, Natural Balance Foods, are aware that people don’t want over-processed foods. We want the benefits of raw, natural and unprocessed foods. So they have created some delicious fruit and nut bars with no added sugar, syrup or ingredients that shouldn’t be there. Much more healthier than the conventional ones that you may know.

The Eat Nakd Bars come in a variety of flavors with my favorite being the Cocoa Chocolate Orange bar. And they are compact. Just toss them in your handbag or murse (man purse) and you will always have a snack handy. I always keep some kind of healthy snack in my purse. Whether it’s popcorn, granola bars or grapes. My friends will often ask if I have any ‘Scooby Snacks’ when they get hungry. It’s a running joke among my crew. Look, you never know when you will get caught out there. Why not be prepared with snacks on hand.

Besides, the airlines nickel and dime you for everything and don’t even provide nuts anymore. The Eat Nakd Bars are great snacks between meals and perfect to bring on your next flight.
