I really don’t know what it is about NYC and why people don’t dance. I’m from Detroit and that’s all we do. From hustles to ballrooming, we stay dancing. Hence why I’m always disappointed when I go to parties in the city because people stand around and look at each other. Is this high school? We don’t do that where I’m from. I have been living out east for nearly 12 years and can only remember one time that I have gone to a party where the music was jammin’ and I danced until I sweated my hair out. That was Labor Day of 2008.

The other night I got a little dressed up and went out to a party. I rarely have the opportunity to get dressed up and spend a night on the town. Clubs aren’t my scene, but I do enjoy a good night out dancing. I used to stay in the clubs when I was a youngin’ but I’ve outgrown that stage in my life. #thankgod Now I only go out to a club if someone is having something and it happens to be at one.

The benefit was at a cool space. We got there an hour after the party began and the place was empty. We were the only folks in the spot. I don’t like to get to parties early. I’m not trying to help set up. LOL.

Besides the fact that the DJ was alright (I like ignorant music…don’t judge me), the sales from the tickets went to a wonderful cause. So I wasn’t even mad. I did end up having a good time and danced the whole night. I heard the party got really hype later…after I left. Whomp!

Do you like to dance when you go out?
