BLM-Meetup-at-The-Pink-Tea-Cup

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of attending a wonderful blogger brunch at The Pink Tea Cup.  The meet up was part of BLM: Bloggers Like Me which is a blogger group on Facebook created by Fashion Du Jour.  BLM is a community of bloggers dedicated to the positive exchange of ideas, tips and advice about FASHION, BEAUTY, RELATIONSHIPS and FAITH through blogging, meet ups and social networking.

BLM-Eat-Up

There were several BLM “Eat Ups” that day across the United States, but of course I attended the NYC one which was hosted by the lovely Beatrice Clay of For A Beautiful Life.

I ventured out on a limb and had chicken and waffles.  I know it’s hard to believe, but I have never had chicken and waffles before in my life.  I just always thought the combination was weird. Oh boy, I was wrong.  It was delicious!

We also had the most gracious host ever!! His name was Binny and he was a card. He worked the whole time in stilettos too. Werk Binny!

It was great to network with other bloggers.  We even played an ice breaker to get to know each other in which I failed miserably.  My memorization skills suck.  There was many useful tips and suggestions given.

After the brunch, we took a group photo with Binny in front of The Pink Tea Cup.  Some of  of the attendees included:

Charita Johnson of Cherrie Amore

Liberation Theory

BabyTeems

Ms. Tai Nycole of Stranded: A Healthy Hair Journey

I had a lovely time and it was great to meet this great group of ladies.  I wanted to ride my bike to the event but I was running late. So I brought my bike on the train instead to ride it back home after the brunch.  Shout out to the gentlemen who helped me carry my bike up the subway stairs.  Chivalry isn’t dead!

Laying out after brunch

On my way home I chilled out a bit on the Greenway and read a little bit of  Fifty Shades Darker which is book 2 of the Fifty Shades trilogy. My guilty pleasure!

Oh…and I don’t buy my books anymore. I actually check them out from the New York Public Library and download them to my Kindle app on my iPad. You know I’m all about saving a buck wherever I can. Besides, once you have read the book what do you do with it after ward? It just ends up taking space.  Check out your local library and see if they offer electronic check outs.
