I’m sure many of you were anticipating the rumored iPhone 5 to hit stores this month, but Apple has bamboozled us by launching an iPhone 4S instead.  Although the 4S looks like an iPhone 4 on the outside, it has many new features on the inside.  The iPhone 4S offers a higher resolution camera, the tech assistant Siri, iCloud, a longer battery life, and a world phone that can be used overseas.

The iPhone 4S will be released in black or white and pre-orders on the new iPhone will be available starting Oct. 7th through Verizon and AT&T. The new iPhone carrier Sprint will launch Oct. 14th!

Here’s a breakdown of the current iPhone prices:

  • iPhone 3GS (8GB): FREE after 2 year contract!
  • iPhone 4 (8GB): $99 after 2 year contract!
  • iPhone 4S: $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB

Although you can purchase an unlocked iPhone without a contract you’ll be limited to GSM carriers. The unlocked version will not work on CDMA networks like those operated by Sprint and Verizon.

Do you think all of the new features are worth an upgrade?
